Patients of Dr. Turner’s practice can now book for in-person appointments, virtual, same day or future appointments online. Please read below about the different appointment types that can be booked.

There are two links to book an appointment; the first link will show any appointment available in the future with the exception of those that are reserved for same day booking only. The second link will show same day appointments only.

Dr. Turner offers appointments Monday through Friday. All afternoon appointments with Dr. Turner are same day appointments (you can read more about why below). Most, but not all of the appointments on Dr. Turner’s schedule are accessible to online booking. Please call the office if you don’t see an appointment online that will work.

***Same day appointments are available for booking online, but PLEASE CALL US IF YOU HAVE SEVERE SYMPTOMS***

  • This is a 15 minute appointment for one or more concerns. If you would like to discuss several issues, please note that there may not be sufficient time in the appointment to appropriately address each concern. If this is the case, some items may need to be deferred to another visit.

    Patients with active covid infection or symptoms compatible with covid infection should not book for an in person appointment.

  • This is a 30-minute appointment to review a mental health concern.

  • For patients who prefer not to come to the office, video appointments are available. The service Dr. Turner uses for video visits is easy and can be used on a computer or mobile device. For instructions on how to conduct a video visit, click here.

  • Phone appointments are ideal to follow up on an issue you have previously spoken to Dr. Turner about, or to ask a simple question about your health when a physical exam is not required. Generally, if you have a new physical concern, it is best to select an in person appointment.

 About same day appointments

  • Same day appointments are appointment times that are reserved for booking on the day-of. They cannot be booked in advance.

  • Reserving some appointment times for same day booking allows Dr. Turner to accommodate concerns of an urgent nature.

  • Same day appointments are available in the afternoons on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and late morning on Thursday and Friday.

  • The reality is that Dr. Turner does not really know what his daily schedule looks like until he wakes up and sees what happened overnight. Sometimes patients are admitted to the hospital overnight and require in-hospital assessment by Dr. Turner, and other times they may be seen in the emergency department and require urgent follow up. For this reason, the number of same day appointments that can be accommodated on any given day is not known until just before the day starts.

  • Although reserving some appointments for same day booking offers clear advantages, this particular circumstance is a frustrating consequence of using a partial same day booking system. There are several options for individuals who find it difficult to attend an in-person appointment in the morning:

    1. An appointment can be booked in advance with our excellent Nurse Practitioner.

    2. Virtual appointment offerings including high quality video visits can be offered during the mornings, which may make those times more accessible to individuals who have difficulty doing appointments in the mornings.

    3. Same day appointments can be booked online, before the phones open at 9am, to alleviate the frustration of being kept on hold.

  • The intention of same day appointments is to accommodate urgent concerns as they arise. However, non urgent concerns can be booked same day if there is availability in the schedule.

  • Yes, starting in June 2022, same day appointments are available for online booking. They are accessible through a separate booking link (see above), and are made available usually in the early morning. As always, if you don’t see an available appointment when trying to book online, we encourage you to call us as our receptionists can often help to problem solve an issue.
